The two-hour hike is steep in parts but is well worth it for the 360-degree view of the Pacific Ocean and Waikiki Beach. The vast views that are waiting for you at the top of this 300,000-year-old crater, and iconic Hawai’ian landmark, are something to behold. You’ll remember this one forever! Located at the end of Manoa road, the Manoa Falls trail is a fairly gentle 2.6km round trip. Follow the stream as it winds through the forest and ends up at the magnificent falls. The waterfall is simply breathtaking, so don’t forget to take some snaps. You may want to bring your swimmers for a dip, though it isn’t recommended as the waters and rocks can be unsafe. Swim at your own risk! Kids will enjoy this trek too.

A rare and sacred landscape, this special place vibrates with ancient Hawai’ian history and culture. Known as the Heart of Maui, you’ll be astounded by all the birds that surround you.

Among the must-see things to do in Hawai’i is driving the Road to Hana. Make time for the Twin Falls hike on your road trip. Less than a kilometre each way, this hike is more of a meander, and you can take a dip in the falls to cool off too! Twin Falls is easily accessible, and has a fantastic snack stand. Some tourists have known to be turned away due to full parking, so have a backup plan for the day. On the first Saturday of the month, only Maui residents may enter Twin Falls.

Although this trail stretches for nearly 18km along the Na Pali Coast, you need a permit if you want to walk past Hanakapiai Beach (approx. 3kms). Nestled between the volcanoes and placed along the stunning coastline, this trail is nothing short of breathtaking. Be sure to allow around 3-4 hours for the return trip. Getting to Hawai’i

The trails in Hawai’i are often muddy so take sturdy shoes; pack plenty of water, snacks, and sun cream; take a hiking buddy and let someone know where you are planning to go that day; and lastly, don’t forget the camera!
